What makes Tidal Movement products sustainable?

Tidal Movement operates as a print-on-demand company, meaning every product is made to order, reducing overproduction and waste. Many of our items are crafted from eco-friendly materials such as recycled polyester and organic cotton. While not all products use sustainable materials, we’re committed to creating as little environmental impact as possible.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Most of our products feature eco-friendly materials like recycled polyester and organic cotton. Check out our Eco-Conscious Collection for a curated selection of sustainable items. Each product description clearly states the materials used and their sourcing, so you know exactly what you’re purchasing.

What materials do you use in your products?

We work with both Printful and Printify, who offer a range of eco-friendly products:

  • Printful: Products in our eco-friendly collection contain at least 70% organic or recycled materials. We ensure these materials meet the highest standards, with certifications like GOTS, OCS, GRS, and RCS. Printful also uses post-consumer recycled packaging and offers vegan, cruelty-free products.
  • Printify: Their eco-friendly range includes organic cotton t-shirts, recycled t-shirts, stainless steel water bottles, and more. They use water-based inks and eco-friendly screen printing methods. You can find more details on each product in our descriptions.

Both partners are committed to reducing waste through local fulfillment, sustainable packaging, and eco-conscious production methods.

Where are your products made?

Our products are made by Printful and Printify, two on-demand fulfillment companies with global manufacturing and shipping facilities. 86% of Printful orders are fulfilled locally to reduce carbon emissions. We choose partners who prioritize sustainability and ethical production.

Product Sizing

How do I know what size to order? 

Each product page includes a size guide specific to that item. Since sizing varies by provider, we recommend reviewing the guide carefully before purchasing.

What should I do if my item doesn't fit? 

As all our products are made on demand, we cannot accept returns or exchanges unless the item is defective or damaged. Please review our Return and Refund policy and ensure you select the correct size before completing your purchase. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

 

Swimwear-Specific Questions

Can I return or exchange swimwear?

Due to hygiene and safety concerns, all swimwear, including one-piece swimsuits, bikini sets, and separate tops and bottoms, is final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. We recommend carefully reviewing the size guide before making your purchase to ensure the perfect fit.

What should I know before purchasing swimwear?

Please refer to the size guides on each swimwear product page to ensure you select the correct size.

 

Product Availability

What should I do if an item is out of stock?

If an item is out of stock, it will be unavailable for purchase on our website until it's restocked.

Do you restock sold-out items?

Yes, we aim to restock sold-out items as soon as they become available. Be sure to check back or sign up for restock notifications to stay updated.

Are your products limited edition or seasonal?

We occasionally offer limited edition and seasonal items. These will be clearly marked on our website, so you’ll know which products are only available for a limited time and which are part of our ongoing collections.

 

Product Issues

What should I do if my item arrives damaged or incorrect?

If you receive a damaged, misprinted, or defective item, please contact us within 30 days of receiving the product. To submit a claim, be sure to include:

  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the item showing the problem

Once the claim is verified, we will send a replacement at no additional cost to you. Please note that claims made after the 30-day window may not be eligible for resolution.

How do I report a faulty product?

To report a faulty product, email us at [support@thetidalmovement.com] with a clear photo and a detailed description of the issue. Our team will review your claim and provide further instructions.

Can I request a replacement for a damaged or defective product?

Yes, if the item is damaged or defective, we will either send a replacement or offer a full refund once the issue has been verified.

 

Product Care 

How do I care for my Tidal Movement apparel?

Printed Apparel (DTG & DTF)

  • Washing: Machine wash cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary.
  • Drying: Tumble-dry on low or, for best results, air-dry.
  • Ironing: Cool iron inside-out, avoiding the print. Do not dry-clean or use fabric softeners.
  • DTF Note: For DTF-printed garments, the care instructions provided by the garment manufacturer may not account for the printing process. Follow these guidelines to maintain print quality.

Embroidered Apparel

  • Washing: Machine wash cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and like colors. Non-chlorine bleach can be used sparingly.
  • Drying: Air-dry or tumble-dry on cool air. Do not wring out embroidered items.
  • Ironing: Iron inside-out between two pieces of cloth, without using steam or wetting the embroidery.
  • Dry-Cleaning: Embroidered apparel can be dry-cleaned if needed.

Embroidered Hats, Backpacks & Shoes

  • Cleaning: Spot clean with a damp cloth. Hand-wash cold if necessary. Avoid using brushes.
  • Care Restrictions: Do not machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, iron, or dry-clean.

All-Over Printed Apparel & Swimwear

  • Washing: Machine wash cold with like colors. Do not bleach or dry-clean.
  • Drying: Air-dry for best results. You may iron at a low heat setting.

All-Over Print Bags (Backpacks, Fanny Packs, Duffle Bags)

  • Washing: Hand wash without bleach.
  • Drying: Do not dry-clean or tumble dry. You can iron at a low heat setting.

Totes & Drawstring Bags

  • Washing: Machine wash cold, no bleach.
  • Drying: Do not dry-clean or tumble dry. Iron at a low heat setting.

Sublimation Products (Socks, Blankets, Towels, Laptop Sleeves)

  • Washing: Machine wash cold with like colors (max 86ºF/30ºC).
  • Drying: Air-dry preferred, or tumble-dry on low. Do not bleach or dry-clean.

Sublimation Flip-Flops

  • Cleaning: Hand wash in warm water with a mild detergent.

Mugs

  • Care: White Glossy and Ceramic Mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe, but hand-washing preserves print longevity.
  • Enamel & Black Glossy Mugs: Hand wash only. Do not microwave or heat liquids directly in the mug to prevent damage to the coating.

Because our products are made to order, please allow 2-7 business days for fulfillment before shipping. Delivery times vary depending on your location:

  • U.S. orders: 3-4 business days for delivery
  • International orders: 5-15 business days for delivery

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, we ship internationally through our fulfillment partners around the world.

What are the shipping costs?

We charge a standard shipping rate of $9.99. Enjoy free shipping on orders over $100.

Can I track my order?

Why is my order taking longer to arrive?

We work with fulfillment companies worldwide, and your order will be shipped from the facility closest to your location to minimize delivery times and reduce environmental impact.

Can I modify my order after it has been placed?

If your order is still in processing, please contact us as soon as possible to request changes. If the item is already being fulfilled, we will not be able to make modifications since each item is made to order specifically for you.

 

Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

Can I exchange an item?

Because each item is created on demand, we are unable to offer exchanges unless the product is damaged, defective, or misprinted.

How do I request a return or exchange?

To request a return or exchange, please email us at support@thetidalmovement.com with a clear description and photo of the issue with your product. Once we confirm the problem, we will gladly offer an exchange or refund.

What items are final sale?

All swimsuits, including one-piece suits, bikini sets, and separate tops or bottoms, are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged due to hygiene concerns. Please carefully review the size guide before purchasing.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return is confirmed, your refund will be processed within a few business days. Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to appear on your original payment method depending on your bank or payment provider.

Our Story

Tidal Movement was born during a transformative journey. Our founder, Carmella, found herself seeking clarity and purpose, which she discovered through the ocean and the rhythm of the tides. Surfing became a symbol of resilience, reminding her that with each wave, we rise stronger. Inspired by her experiences traveling the world, Carmella created Tidal Movement to celebrate the spirit of adventure, independence, and connection to nature. Today, our collections reflect these values, empowering individuals to navigate their own paths with confidence and grace.

Meet Carmella

As a woman and an entrepreneur, I’m passionate about using Tidal Movement as a platform to inspire others to live purposefully and make environmentally conscious choices. Our goal is not just to sell clothes, but to be a force for positive change. I find fulfillment in staying active, being productive and exploring new hobbies. I’ve become a strong advocate for creative expression, whether that’s through making art, building things, or simply embracing the joy of creating.

Before Tidal Movement was even a concept, I turned to hobbies like surfing and creating clothes as a way to cope with life’s stresses. When I felt my mental health declining, I realized how therapeutic my hobbies actually were—they became a powerful way to cope and find balance. Studies have shown that engaging in activities you genuinely enjoy not only boosts mood but also improves job performance, enhances creative problem-solving, and strengthens empathy and connections with others. Embracing my hobbies became a lifeline for me, deepening my commitment to advocating for creative expression and well-being.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand Tidal Movement’s impact by introducing more sustainable collections, supporting eco-initiatives, and developing programs that bring people together through adventure, wellness, and creativity.
